Violet Mae (Abbott) Gibbens 92 of Zanesville passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024 at Cedar Hill Care Center. Violet was born on October 28, 1931 in Erie, PA to Robert and Blanche (Brown) Abbott.
Violet was a homemaker and had a special gift of raising beautiful flowers. Violet worked at Olde Town Cleaners and served many years on the election board. She enjoyed going to Senior Center and Line and Square dancing. She was a member of the Sonora United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children; Luther (Marilyn) Gibbens, Carolyn (Reg) Winland, Donna Nash, Twila Opfer, Walter Jr. (Rhonda) Gibbens. Her grandchildren Heather, Matthew, Melissa, Sarah, Justin, Nathan, Danielle and Bently. Several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Gibbens Sr., her daughter Bonnie Dearth, grandson Marcus Dearth, great granddaughter Rachael Wood; son-in-law Dan Opfer, Wayne Dearth and Andy Nash; Sister Isabelle Davison and brother Robert Abbott.
No calling hours or services will be held. Private graveside services will be held in St. Paul Cemetery Sonora.
