ZANESVILLE
Willard H. Nesslein, 77, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at his residence in Zanesville. He was born on February 23, 1945, to Lucas and Elizabeth Barnhart Nesslein in Columbus, Ohio.
Willard served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service, he earned a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Campaign Medal. He spent many years working for Ray Thomas Lumbertown and Home Depot, leaving behind many longtime friends and neighbors.
He was always there with a funny phrase or story to make everyone’s day a better one. He dedicated his whole life to loving and caring for animals and he never met a cat that he didn’t love or want to take in.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet Fowler Nesslein.
No services will be observed at this time. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Union Cemetery in Columbus, at a later date.
