William C. Godby Sr.

William C. Godby Sr., born June 21, 1929 to the late Ernest and Lula Richardson Godby and passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehab, Baltic, OH.  He worked as a self-employed truck driver and loved to travel and the outdoors. He served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Army. 

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl (John) Smith: numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Elmer (Margaret) Godby and John (Nancy) Godby; a sister, Cathy Seeley; a brother-in-law Bob Crabtree; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Godby; a son, Bill Godby; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Jane) Godby; and sisters, Phyllis (Monte) Peck, Joyce Braido, Annabelle Crabtree and Virginia Headley; and brother-in-law Monte Peck.

Calling hours will be held from 11 AM -12 PM on Thursday January 9, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE.  Funeral services will begin at 12 PM in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Johnny Nolan officiating.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at the East Union Cemetery, New Concord, OH.
